Think of the line as a tube.
In doing so, Hiraku Suzuki will revolutionize the way we see the world in which we live.

Principles of drawing without similar documents!
What is drawing? Why is drawing so important around the world now?
The answer becomes clear when you think of drawn lines as "tubes"---

This is the "Principles of Drawing" written by Hiraku Suzuki, an artist who is attracting international attention.

・Drawing/writing is the very essence of living in this world
・The universe is a bundle of countless lines, and humans have also been drawing since the ancient times of cave paintings・Not only humans, but also insects, birds, plants, stones, weather, and celestial bodies draw lines in this universe
・Lines create division and separation, but tubes connect space and time, Connect and create traffic
・Since the Renaissance, drawing has been unfairly valued compared to painting
・Drawing is to discover the unknown that is here and now・When we retrace the line, we can touch both the future and the past
・All the traces in this world are runways for flying off to the unknown
・HIP HOP etc. The possibilities of drawing expand to include music, dance, rap, photography, urban theory, children's play, manga, agriculture, mountain climbing, medicine, and even education

``Take the lines for a walk.'' Paul Klee
``Drawing is the joining of gesture and words. ”Andre Leroy-Goulin
“A path is something that we must open ourselves in order to escape from a closed world.” Shizuka Shirakawa

Children are walking the line without thinking. As it recedes, the plants grow and the wind leaves traces on the wall.
This is a book that will change the way you look at the world, reconsidering the drawings that are abundant in this world as time capsules,
as dialogue, and as living in the present tense.
[In addition to drawings by artists from all over the world and works by the author, there are many illustrations ranging from slime molds to wormholes, Kafka's manuscripts to Coltrane's own musical scores]

In the space age, where we live with crises, the contours of the world are changing rapidly. This is not the time to slowly portray it from a safe place. Rather, we must utilize drawing as an ongoing method of constantly reconnecting ourselves with the world. Just as Paleolithic humans invented drawing to translate and understand the world and self when they came into contact with the dangerous expanses of time and space outside the cave. Precisely because there is division and crisis, there is also a will to connect and deviate. We live in an era where drawing is necessary for survival. (From this book)
