This book was produced and published in conjunction with the exhibition "Stardust KIDS," by Yusuke Asai, held from April 27 to August 25, 2024 at the Kanaz Forest of Creation Art Museum in Awara City, Fukui Prefecture. It contains a wealth of essays by Satoshi Koganezawa (curator/full-time lecturer at Tohoku University of Art and Design), Hiromi Tsuchida (advisor at Kanaz Forest of Creation Art Museum), and Yumiko Nonaka (curator at the Kanazawa 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art), as well as short but clear words about Asai's own production and works, and photographs of his mud paintings and ceramic works. Yusuke Asai
Born in Tokyo in 1981. Artist. Using familiar materials such as soil, water, dust, flour, tape, and pens, he continues to paint freely in all kinds of places. His major recent solo exhibitions include "Something/Let Me Eat It" (ANOMALY, 2020), "Yusuke Asai - Seeds of Art, Journey of Earth" (The Hakone Open-Air Museum, 2015-2016), "yamatane" (Rice University Art Gallery, Houston, 2014), and group exhibitions include "Art in Qiaoshan - Guangdong Nanhai Land Art Festival" (Pingshadao, Guangdong Province, China, 2022), "A Spirit of Gift, A Place of Sharing" (Hancock Shaker Village, Massachusetts, 2022), "Garden of Life" (Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum, 2020-2021), and "Reborn-Art Festival 2019" (Ishinomaki). In 2019, he received the Yokohama Culture Prize Culture and Arts Encouragement Award.
